Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends is a British children's television series, first broadcast in September 1984. In 2000, it was renamed as Thomas & Friends. The show revolves around the machines and people who populate the fictional Island of Sodor including Thomas the Tank Engine, Edward, Henry, Gordon and Percy.
